About TMG
Welcome to The Marketing Gentleman website. This is my own personal space where I share strategies with other like-minded marketers. When people ask me how I came up with the website name I like to tell them I chose this name after hearing so much about that “rich jerk” dude and I certainly wanted to go in the opposite direction of his entire theme, except for the rich part
One thing the world needs a little more of is decorum. Being nasty and rude may work for some but it’s not a practice I want to follow. I have seen some marketers who appear more interested in a “fast buck” than in serving their customers. There are plenty of examples of junk (rehashed or new) being spewed all over the internet. Also there are many fine products as well, but as marketers we will do well to remember that even the best product “hyped” to someone who doesn’t need it is not doing the customer a service.
A gentleman (or lady) marketer doesn’t take advantage of the powerful psychological insights learned through the trial and error of past master marketers to manipulate their customer’s “hot buttons” solely for personal gain, such is the work of scamsters and con men. No the ethical marketer uses this “secret knowledge” to persuade the customer who will truly benefit from his product who however may be hesitant only because of the dark work of the charlatan marketer.
The Golden Rule is needed today perhaps even more than before. The faceless anonymity of internet marketing has allowed a lowering the standards of ethics that would not have been tolerated in face-to-face selling. Be true to your market, there are genuine needs everywhere for the astute marketer.
Remember we are here to serve our customers, treat them as you would your guests. When refunds are requested, do so with cheer for you are righting a wrong. If the product sold was not a right match for the customer, then correct this mistake happily. Professional refunders can be banned but an honest mistake needs a fair correction. Treating your customers well and they in turn will treat you well with return business. This is what TMG is about!
